Another Mother's Day Card

I thought I'd like to send a Mother's Day card to my aunt and my cousin, so I broke out some new items and combined them with some of my current favorites.

Inside fav:  Papertrey spiral die.  New:  butterflies stamp and die plus sentiment from Taylored Expressions "Make It Amazing" set.  The die cut flowers are from Papertrey.

Mother's Day Cards

Another friend asked me to make two Mother's Day cards - one for her mother and one for her mother-in-law.  I made the two cards somewhat similar but different.  This first card is for her mother:

Of course, I used my Papertrey Quatrefoil die in the background.  I added flowers from Heartfelt Creations "Daisy Patch" die set, and the sentiment is done with Spellbinders Labels Six dies (first time used).  For a little pop, I added platinum Liquid Pearls around the outer edge of the sentiment labels.

Her mother likes owls, so I was able incorporate one standing on a tree branch, popped up on the inside of the card.  The owl is a digital image, "Hooty Owl," from Scrappin Doodles, and the tree branch and leaves are dies from My Favorite Things.  The pop-up is from Papertrey.  The "Happy Mother's Day" stamp is from Lil' Inker Designs.  I colored the owl with Copic markers and adhered some large googly eyes.

The next card is for her husband to send to his mother:

His mother was born in Brazil, so Portuguese is her native language.  We believe this is Happy Mother's Day in Portuguese (or close to it).  Once again, I used the Papertrey Quatrefoil background die, and added the same "Daisy Patch" flowers from Heartfelt Creations.  The sentiment is stamped and die cut with Papertrey's "Celebration" set.

His mother likes lady bugs, so I used Taylored Expressions "Bugabee Bugs" dies adhered onto the Papertrey spiral die.  The sentiments are on Spellbinders Oval Scalloped dies.  The "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment is from Taylored Expressions "Make it Amazing" stamp set.

21st Birthday

A classmate told me that her 21st birthday is in a couple of weeks, and since she enjoyed the card I made for our French teacher so much, I decided to make one for her. The bright paper is from the "Assorted Citrus" pack sold at Michael's. The pink background is embossed with Sizzix "Swirls" embossing folder. The star is a Spellbinders die, and the 21 is from Papertrey's "By the Number" die collection. I penned a thin line of glitter around the edge of the star with a Gelly Roll pen, and I sprayed the 21 with a Smooch glitter spray.

On the inside, I used Papertrey's spiral and glued martini and margarita die cuts from My Favorite Things "Let's Toast" set. The two sentiments are also from the "Let's Toast" set.

Fuchsia Birthday

My friend wanted another floral birthday card to send to a relative in England, so I thought about this Exotic Fuchsia stamp and die set from Heartfelt Creations. I stayed with the Papertrey Quaterfoil background die, then stamped the image onto the largest Spellbinders Labels 6. The two fuchsia buds were stamped, die cut and glued on top of the original image. The center flower was also stamped and die cut, though I raised this image up a bit more on foam dots. Copic markers were used to color the flowers and leaves: RV00, RV17, RV63, YG61, YG63, and YG67.

On the interior I used the same basic design adding two fuchsia die cut images. The happy birthday is a new die cut from Whimsy Stamps - I cut it out of black paper, then again out of green paper, layering the two to give it a shadow effect.

Happy Easter

My friends, Joe and Mary, invited me for Easter dinner, so I wanted to make them a special card. I used the Papertrey "Quatrefoil" again - this time in Papertrey's chartreuse dotted cardstock. The sentiment is from Annette Watkins (from MANY years ago), and it is on My Favorite Things "Layered Labels."The image on the inside is "Spring Bunnies," a digital image from Hambo Stamps. The main image is mounted on a wobble spring, so that it wobbles when the card is opened up.
